About Me

Hi! My name is Teara and I own and operate Lazy J Quilting Services. I offer longarm edge to edge designs and quilting finishing services in the Columbus, Ohio area. I also accept mail in quilts for those outisde of the Columbus area.  I've been quilting for over 20 years and starting longarm quilting back in 2018 when I purchased my Gammill Statler machine.

So why Lazy J Quilting? I named my business after my families farm in Washington state and adopted their cattle brand as my logo. It's a tribute to the people who raised me and made me who I am. My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 4 and I completed my first quilt by age 5. My earliest childhood memories are of her staying up late sewing my Halloween costumes at the dining room table. Still to this day the hum of a sewing machine is soothing and brings back memories of those times. My family has always been supportive of my sewing and quilting and helped me turn that passion into a business.  My families cattle brand reminds me everyday that even though I live  across the country from them, a little piece of them is always with me.
